We met during our first week of 1L (first year) at GW Law. Matt asked me about my favorite food spots in DC since he was from out-of-town and I gave him a laundry list of my top restaurants in the city. He then tactfully asked me out on a date to one of the places on the list, Pizzeria Paradiso in Georgetown. However, Matt didn't realize that there were several Pizzeria Paradiso locations and ended up at the wrong one. Thankfully, I waited for him to meet me at the right place while I got a chance to take some liquid courage. We ended up having a lot of common interests (like a shared love of huskies) and the rest is history (hence, Kaya)!

Matt took me to Beaver Creek, CO to show me one of his favorite places growing up. On Saturday night, he took me to Splendido At The Chateau for dinner. When we arrived, I noticed that there happened to be a charming bridge surrounded by towering pines covered in snow. He told me that he was going to check out the bridge and I immediately knew. After shooting a quick text to a friend, I made my way to the top of the bridge and it happened. Since nobody was around, we skillfully took some self-timer camera pics and celebrated with an amazing dinner.
