A lot of stories begin with once upon a time, it was love at first sight, and we knew it from the moment it happened. We, at all cost, tried to avoid all of that and each other, because we were too stubborn to understand, this was it. Clint and Marie met on December 22nd, 2022 during a not so accidental matchmaking. (Looking at you, Brittney) Clint was in Nashville visting his brother, Daniel and future sister in law, Brittney for Christmas. Brittney invited Marie out for dinner with them one night at Smith and Lentz Brewery in East Nashville. "But don't worry, it's not a set up" Brittney kept telling Marie. The night was definitely just a night amongst friends, with Brittney and Marie dominating most of the conversation. Unknowingly, Clint was getting nervous that he would not get to say anything to her that would make a lasting impact. A snow storm ended the night early, before Clint could really get to know Marie. It easily could've been "a nice to meet you and goodbye" type of moment. But it didn't quite end there... It started with a simple facebook message from Marie thanking Clint for dinner. And from there that would help keep them in touch for awhile. Unfortunately life, fear and doubts got in the way. Both of them busy in their careers, as well as nervous about trying to attempt a long distance relationship with someone they just met. Neither one of them knowing they both shared the same feelings for each other, they lost touch along the way. (aka Clint ghosted Marie, but he made up for it) Brittney, determined and unwilling to give up on the two, still played a role as a secret messenger letting both of them know when they were thinking about each other, trying to state the obvious, but neither of them got the hint. Six months later, Marie sent Clint a message on his birthday reopening their line of communication and knowing he was coming back to Nashville in two weeks. They remained in contact this time, talking all day almost every day. The fear of knowing, turned into the fear of not knowing what this could be. While in town, they all celebrated Marie's birthday together. From there on, the two became inseparable. Somewhere during that weekend - between the laughs and how easy everything felt - it just clicked. What followed was a long distance relationship between multiple cities. First Nashville to Tampa, then Nashville to Fort Knox, then eventually Nashville to Charlotte. It wasn't always convenient, but the travel was always worth it. In that first year alone they traveled over 15,000 miles by plane and car to see each other. Even if it was just for a day. No matter how much time it was, it never was enough. Every airport goodbye and day apart getting harder, but also easier knowing they were closer to closing the gap and being with each other. When the time came, Marie said goodbye to Nashville and made Charlotte her new home to be with Clint where they began to build their life together. There, they made a home together and eventually welcomed in a new family member, their puppy dog Jack (Easily the most important member of the household.) On their second anniversary, they took a trip to the Blue Ridge mountains in Asheville where Clint proposed to Marie at the Biltmore Estate. She laughed, she snorted, and then she said yes. (Shout out to Harold from Germany for unknowingly capturing the photos and taking a video) Now they are taking you back to the mountains to celebrate this next chapter in their with you. The people they love the most. We can't wait to see you there!
