Some love stories start slow, others hit like a lightning bolt. Ours? Let’s just say it started with a little swipe on Hinge, not exactly glamorous, but definitely fate. We matched on a Friday, and while Clinton was waiting for Heidi's response, she made him wait until Sunday to reply (she swears it was strategy, but really, she didn't know she was already wasting two whole days before meeting the love of her life). By Tuesday, we were meeting at an Italian restaurant. Before the starters even arrived, we were holding hands — nerves melted into calm, and something just clicked. That night, we both knew this wasn’t just another date. By that Friday, Clinton asked Heidi to be his girlfriend, and on 01 November 2025 our forever began. Things moved quickly (some might say very quickly). Within our first month, we moved in together. A few months later, we were engaged. We faced some raised eyebrows, but it didn’t take long for everyone to see what we already knew: we had found our person. Now, we share a home in Glencairn with our little Shih Tzu, Bonnie, who’s claimed the role of spoiled princess of the family. Our life together is full of balance and little rituals: beach walks with Bonnie, weekly dinners with the family, gym sessions where Heidi tries (unsuccessfully) to out-lift Clinton, and evenings where Clinton takes over as chef while Heidi provides all the cuddles. Clinton is the calm to Heidi’s fire, and Heidi brings the energy to Clinton’s steadiness. Together, we make the perfect team. The proposal was as magical as our love story has been. At Kagga Kamma Nature Reserve, Clinton planned a private dinner, but strong winds had other ideas. Instead, we were led up a steep mountain walkway to a glass house overlooking the valley. Waiting there was a puzzle that spelled out “Will you marry me.” In her excitement, Heidi shouted “YES!” before Clinton even had the chance to get down on one knee — but he did, and our forever was sealed. From that first swipe to this moment, our journey has been full of laughter, love, and a few happy tears. We’re best friends, partners-in-crime, and each other’s home. Now, we can’t wait to say “I do” in front of all of you — and start the next chapter of this adventure together.
