Jeremiah and Samantha’s story began long before they ever imagined it would. Both growing up in Deerfield, they first met in elementary school and shared the same third-grade class. At the time they just knew each other as “the ginger boy” and “the loud girl” in class, but it wasn’t until high school that their friendship truly took shape, laying the foundation for something much deeper. Before romance ever entered the picture, Jer and Sam became best friends. Throughout school they were always drawn to each other. Working together at Chandler’s Restaurant solidified their bond, as only the magic of Yankee Candle could. The turning point came at a concert during senior year that was definitely not supposed to be a date. Sam had invited several friends, all of whom bailed at the last minute, leaving just the two of them. What followed was their very first “date”, complete with Jeremiah’s awkward advances which Sam still lovingly recalls making her cringe. On the drive home in Jer’s 1996 Corolla, Sam remembers Jer making her laugh the entire way. From that moment on, Jeremiah’s sense of humor, and his ability to make her laugh even during tough moments, became her favorite thing about him. After ten years of sharing smiles and laughs, Sam’s ability to make the mundane moments fun is Jer’s favorite quality. The two went their separate ways as they prepared to start new chapters in college, Jer at UMass Amherst and Sam at Quinnipiac in Connecticut. After just a few weeks apart however, they were visiting each other regularly and soon made their relationship official. Over the years, Sam and Jer’s relationship has seen its share of highs and lows; they found out the hard way that the excitement of youthful love can also bring with it heartbreak. But through the trials, their deep connection has always been undeniable and unbreakable. They have found true soulmates in each other and are excited to celebrate their relationship surrounded by the people who have positively influenced it and made it stronger. They give immense credit to their many family and friends who have stood by them through it all. Your love and support has allowed them each to become the people they are today, so they can be here for each other.
