Matron of Honor
Would you sign up for a 15-hour bus ride next to a stranger? No. Me neither. But when I was a freshman at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, I met Shira Russell, a rising senior at Bowling Green State, at the NCCWSL conference in 2018—and that random bus seat turned into a lifelong friendship. We laughed, shared music, and made videos the entire way home. Since then, Shira has become the big sister I never had. She leads a life full of faith, family, and empowerment, and she’s a phenomenal example of the kind of woman we all aspire to be. I am truly honored to call her my Sister in Christ — and especially honored to have her as my matron of honor.
Maid of Honor
In February 2021, at a Galentine’s Day party, Erikah & Ceesi met and something just clicked. What started as casual conversation quickly turned into one of those friendships that feels easy, natural, and meant to be. Since then, they’ve created memories that feel like they’ve known each other forever. And because Erikah has a way of quietly changing people’s lives without even trying, two years later at her Halloween party in Buckhead, she introduced Clifton & Ceesi. She has a gift for bringing people together — for hosting, for nurturing friendships, for being the glue that keeps everyone connected. And sometimes, without even trying, she becomes the fairytale matchmaker.
Bridesmaid
In June 2012, I had just moved to a new town—My mom made me set up a lemonade, a couple days after setting up shop, Gabby walked by with her dog and stopped for a cup. I remember noticing right away that she was my age, and before I could overthink it, I asked if she wanted to be friends. Bold? Yes. Necessary? Also yes. I didn’t have a phone at the time, so there were no numbers exchanged — just, “See you tomorrow?” And we did. Over and over again. Somewhere between sleepovers, long talks, and laughing about nothing, we became sisters. Her mom loved me like her own, and mine did the same for her. So by nature, we grew up together. Gabby has seen every version of me — the good, the bad, and the ugly — and has always led with empathy and immediately follow up with , “How can I help?”. She’s an incredible mom, the biggest dog lover, and one of the most loyal souls I know. All because she stopped for lemonade, I now have a sister for life.
