A mutual friend of ours called Austin to see if she, one of his buddies, and I could come hang out by his apartment pool. After sitting by his pool, we got a call from another group of friends that there was a pool party at a complex down the road. We all loaded up and went over there and had a nice time. Fast forward a month, me and another friend started hanging out at his fraternity house with him and his buddy, and we grew closer as the summer went on. As summer came to an end and I went back to College in Lebanon, we stayed in touch. I would come see him on football Saturdays, and then homecoming happened. This was the turning point in our relationship where we started looking at each other as more than friends. After this weekend we started going out on dates and eventually he asked me to be his girlfriend on October 29, 2017. We continued building our relationship and the more comfortable we got with each other we started talking about introducing each other to our families. Once this happened, I knew that he would be sticking around, and I would be as well. Fast forward a few years into our relationship we went ring shopping on November 27, 2021, then without me knowing he bought it that night while I sat in the car...

My friend came up to me one day and mentioned that a festival was going to be happening at this place in Brentwood called Cheekwood. Not thinking anything about it I agreed to go as it sounded interesting. As I was out of town on the weekend of March 17th, Austin went to lunch with his mother and met her in Dickson to get the ring as she lives in Jackson, TN. We end up going to this festival and doing a tour of the huge, beautiful mansion. We walked around the grounds, and this is when I started getting weird vibes from Austin. We walk past the tulip garden, and he is drinking a soda and holding it up close to his chest jacket pocket, which I thought was odd, but I let it go and tried not to think too much about it. We walked about a mile around the grounds just exploring and having a good time looking at everything. I wanted to take some pictures, so we went back up to the mansion at the overlook and we took our friends photos first. Then it was our time to take pictures and without even hesitating he got down on one knee and said those four special words I have been wanting to hear for over a year at this point. He finally asked me to marry him, and of course I said YES! March 26, 2022 will forever be engraved in both of our hearts.
