FAQs

Question

Do I need a passport?

Answer

Yes. Traveling to Europe requires a passport. Be sure to verify it's not expired as well. If you do not have a passport, they are easy to get and take about 6-8 weeks.

Question

Do I need a Visa?

Answer

If you have an American passport, no visa is required to enter Europe. A valid passport is all you need.

Question

Should I get Euros?

Answer

I recommend to go to your bank and order some Euros. Some banks can take up to a month to exchange your dollars into Euros so it does require some planning. Almost all restaurants and stores accept Visa cards so not a big deal if you do not have any Euros on hand. Just be sure to notify your bank about your travels. Also, not every country is on the Euro. If you go to London for example, they use the Pound. Other eastern European countries have their own currency as well.

Question

Can I rent a car?

Answer

Yes. I recommend you get your international driver's license at any AAA agency. They are about $20 and is valid for several countries. Most rentals in Europe are Manual. Automatics are optional but can come at an extra cost. Our travel agency, Connections by Avra, has access to the best prices on a rental so please contact us first! For some extra mobility, renting a car is a great option. *Yes, in France they drive on the right side of the road!*

Question

What about health care coverage?

Answer

PLEASE be sure to check with your health care plan to verify if you're covered when you travel internationally. It's very common not to be. Travel insurance is easy and affordable. Better to be safe than sorry. If you want to know your options, please contact our travel agency for more information and prices.

Question

Whats the weather in Paris during December?

Answer

The temperatures go between the 30s-40s. Northern France is mostly cloudy and can experience a lot of rain. Rarely does it snow and if it does it usually melts by the end of the day. You can find more info online for what to pack but this can give you an idea of how heavy you should organize your luggage
