Nick and Rachel are both fans of the Bachelor franchise, and Nick thought it would be cheesy but fun to pay homage to that for the proposal. It started in the afternoon when Nick left a single long-stemmed rose and a "date card" at the door. It told Rachel to be ready in her best clothes by 6, so she did just that. Nick took her to the restaurant where they had their first date, The Clay Pit. Much to Rachel's surprise, at the end of dinner, the waiter brought out a second rose and date card. From there, they went to a rooftop bar and restaurant at the top of the Fairmont hotel in downtown Austin, which had a beautiful view of the city. There, their waiter brought out the third and final rose and date card. After Rachel read it, Nick got down on one knee and proposed! (She said yes). It was a truly magical night that had kickstarted a wonderful forever.
