Clayton and Julie Ann had just about given up on love. But love hadn't given up on them! In a last-ditch effort to try and not die alone, during the last dregs of the lonely pandemic. They joined a very specific niche online dating website called, "Orthodox and single" Clayton, a new inquirer to Orthodoxy, thought becoming Orthodox Christian in Arkansas was the surest way to end up alone. So he went on a quest, online. Julie Ann, a Greek, cradle Orthodox Christian girl, finally succumbed to the forceful suggestions of her Greek mother. So she finally joined the online dating site. There, in an online world called Orthodox and Single, they met and hit it off. A true miracle! Clayton and Julie Ann had both been praying for a significant other, for years. Julie Ann had asked Saint Matrona, the blind to intercede for her. Then, two weeks after Clayton became an Orthodox Christian he journeyed to Franklin, TN to meet his future bride. (At the time he still wasn't fully convinced she was real) Clayton was sure that she was a Ukrainian spy of some sort. Alas, both were just as they said they were! They continued dating long distance from Little Rock, AR to Franklin, TN. Then on December 18, Clayton drove Julie Ann to the Arkansas State Capital building to look at their beautiful Christmas lights. He distracted Julie Ann with Marco (it was Marco's birthday) who showed up to take photos. Julie Ann turned around and Clayton was on one knee in front of a gloriously decorated Christmas tree. Then he said, "Will you marry me?" right after Julie Ann said he lied to her. Which made Clayton laugh. He had won with the element of surprise! Of course, Julie Ann said yes! She is honored to wear Clayton's great-grandmother, Lydia's wedding ring as her own now.
