Lucky you! You are staying in our favorite part of town. Alexa grew up about 10 minutes away and we are thrilled to share the area with you. With tons of walking paths, museums, restaurants, and stores around you will be kept busy. Houston is a vibrant and diverse city full of art, food, and humidity. Houston Zoo

The Houston Zoo houses over 6,000 animals from more than 600 species and is the second most visited zoo in the United States. It is no wonder we go here during almost every visit. Stop by and see Clay and Alexa's favorite animals: otters and elephants! Don't forget to ride the train!

Houston Museum of Natural Science

The Houston Museum of Natural Science houses a Planetarium, Butterfly Center, and over a dozen permanent exhibit areas that examine astronomy, space, science, Native Americans, paleontology, energy, chemistry, gems and minerals, seashells, Texas wildlife, and more. A great stop on a hot day.

The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston

Less than a 5 minute walk outside of Hotel Zaza is the 12th largest art museum in the world based on square feet of gallery space. The permanent collection of the museum spans more than 6,000 years of history with approximately 70,000 works from six continents! Be sure to check out the James Turrell light tunnel.

The Menil Collection

Enjoy the private art collection of John and Dominique de Menil. The museum holds approximately 17,000 paintings, sculptures, prints, drawings, photographs and rare books. There is also a cute bistro across the street.

Take a tour of the home to World Series Champions the Houston Astros! A fun activity filled with baseball history. You can see where they bang on trash cans (Clay wrote that) and enjoy Downtown Houston.
