Flight
The San Diego International Airport is really your only option for flights, unless you plan to fly your own small plane to one of the miniature airfields.
Rental Car
No, really, please have a car. San Diego does not believe in effective mass transportation. And it especially does not believe in effective mass transportation to Julian, which is an hour+ outside of downtown San Diego. Directions to the venue (or, you know, use Google): Take 79 West out of Julian to Pine Hills Road and turn left (.8 mi); Pine Hills Road to Blue Jay Dr. and turn right (2.3 mi); Blue Jay Dr. to La Posada Way and turn left (.2 mi); Destination will be on the left. The trip takes about 7 minutes from downtown Julian.
Travel Note
Julian has a number of boutique hotels, traditional B&Bs, and AirBnbs available for lodging. We highly recommend staying in the Julian area on Saturday and Sunday, because who wants to drive down a windy mountain road after drinking? We've listed some possibilities of hotels/B&Bs in Julian. If you are looking at AirBnbs/VRBOs, anything in Julian should be less than a 10-minute drive from the venue. Anything in Whispering Pines, Pine Hills, Wynola, or Kentwood-in-Pines is within a 15-minute drive. If in doubt, text Kate the address and she will tell you how far away it is. If you're coming into town early or staying late, however, it might be fun to stay in San Diego proper for the days before/after the wedding weekend. Let us know if you want suggestions of places to stay in the city! If you live in San Diego, maybe still think about finding a place in Julian on Sunday night? We're not your parents, but don't drive drunk down a mountain.
