The beginning of our forever

DJ and Bella travelled to Florida for a vacation/work trip. Bella had a work conference to attend in Orlando on Monday, but the Friday before was her mom’s birthday so they all decided to go down early as a weekend vacation. Bella’s parents went down early, getting the resort room set up and stocked with all the best snacks, and DJ and Bella came down Friday afternoon. They all had dinner together and talked about how excited they were to go to the new Universal park the next day, and Bella and her mom left to go get their nails done as part of mom’s birthday celebration (or so Bella thought). On Saturday, they went to the park and took in the sights - truly it is a beautiful park, with amazing plant life and gorgeous fountains and grand intricately detailed buildings. They had decided to see the whole park by walking in a loop, starting on the right side of the park (themed after How to Train Your Dragon, a favorite of Bella’s) and ending in the huge Super Mario World (DJ’s highlight of the trip). They had the best day, stopping to see everything they could, riding some fun rides, getting some delicious treats. Eventually it was time to go to Super Mario World, the entrance to which happened to be a giant escalator up a big, green pipe. They had a blast inside of Mario World, the sun had start to set, and their time at the park was coming to an end. On their way back out, now back in front of the big, green pipe again, DJ and Bella stopped to take a picture. Only what Bella didn’t know, was that these cameras were rolling, ready to capture the moment of a lifetime on film to remember forever. DJ turned to Bella, giving a heartfelt speech about his love for her, the time they had spent together, the life they had built so far. DJ smoothly pulled the ring box free from his pocket as he dropped to one knee, and asked Bella to be his wife. Bella, stunned with shock and surprise, and overwhelmed by happiness and amazement, managed a yes as she grabbed at DJ, trying to hug and kiss him as soon as she could. The bubble of this moment was popped only by the excited screaming of a small group of girls that had passed the happy couple to get onto the escalator as they started to “take the photo”. They had turned just in time to watch DJ drop down to his knee, and they screamed the happiest cries and the loudest “congratulations!” they could manage, as they squatted on the escalator, trying to catch every last moment they could of this surprise proposal. Bella turned and yelled a gleeful “thank you!” back up the escalator to them, only to then turn back and discover a rather large crowd had formed behind her crying parents as they recorded everything. The crowd burst into cheers and congratulations, as the now even more shocked (and shy) Bella, and her sweet new fiancé DJ, made their way out of the entrance - now time to move on to the celebrations and photos!
