Amber & Tyler met in the Summer of 2017, while Tyler was attending graduate school at North Carolina State University. They went on many dates before making things official in the Fall of 2017 when Tyler asked Amber to be his girlfriend in Greenville, North Carolina while she was finishing her senior year at ECU. The first time Tyler told Amber that he loved her was on New Year's Day 2018, right before he boarded his plane in DC heading back to Cincinnati, OH. While dating long distance proved to have many challenges, Amber & Tyler continued to intentionally pursue each other; there was never a question that they wanted to be together. Long-distance dating lasted for 2.5 years, while Amber lived in Southampton, NY and Tyler moved to Minneapolis, MN. In the Fall of 2019, Amber & Tyler decided to take the next steps in their relationship to move in together, giving them the opportunity to (finally) live in the same state. They enjoyed their apartment in Carrboro, NC for a year then moved to Raleigh, NC before buying their first home together in the Fall of 2021. After many serious conversations, Amber & Tyler decided they were ready to get engaged & spend a lifetime together.

On the night of December 3, 2022, Tyler planned a special evening for the two of them. Tyler was pleased that his plan had worked out and that he was able to keep the surprise without Amber catching on to any of his hints. Knowing Amber's love for Christmas, he proposed in front of the Christmas tree at the Raleigh Memorial Auditorium. Amber will never forget the night & special moment when Tyler asked “will you marry me?” with the uttermost confidence, love & eagerness. Amber & Tyler are enjoying their time as an engaged couple learning, growing, & loving each other as they prepare for the wedding of their dreams. We know that it will be an unforgettable weekend of celebration with all of their favorite people. They are overwhelmed by the amount of support from their family & friends. We love you all!
