Question

What’s the best way to get onto the island?

Answer

We recommend taking a plane for the most seamless experience. There are three options: SJU Airport, SIG Airport (20 minutes from SJU, 10 minutes from Old San Juan), Ceiba RVR Airport (50 minutes from San Juan). All the planes are tiny (4-8 people). It’s an ~experience~ with great views and a little bit of thrill. Otherwise, we recommend the ferry which departs from Ceiba. It’s cheap, but gets filled quickly and can experience break downs, resident prioritizations, and other unforeseen issues. If you are planning to take the ferry, we recommend planning to be on Vieques by Thursday to avoid any issues. We may be organizing some shuttles from SJ to the ferry on Thursday and early Friday. More info to come. We ask that you share your travel plans with us via the form on our website - our goal is to make the experience as seamless as we can.

Do you have any hotel recommendations or room blocks?

Answer

Yes! Please see the travel page on our website for recommendations. This is one of the most popular travel weekends on the island. Please book FAR in advance (no later than 4 months out if you’re picky). Prices per 2 person room on the island are generally around $200-300 a night. We recommend staying at one of the recommended hotels or an Airbnb.

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We respectfully request no children at the reception, allowing all of our guests to enjoy an adults-only evening. They are welcome at our Friday and Sunday events!

What is the dress code?

Answer

Our wedding dress code is beach formal. For women, this means a maxi or floor length dress or pants, and for men, a light suit or a formal guayabera (this means cuff links, dress pants, and dress shoes).

What happens if it rains?

Rain or shine, the celebration continues! Please bring umbrellas if rain is in the forecast.

What temperatures should I expect?

Answer

We’re hosting an outdoor wedding! Expect 80-85 degrees Fahrenheit during the day, 75-80 in the evenings.

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

We will be arranging shuttles from key locations on the island to the wedding. Shuttles will also take you back to your accommodations.

We will be sharing more detailed info as we get closer to the weekend. It should be a tool to help you plan the trip, know what to expect, etc.
