Truckee River Bike Trail
An easygoing jaunt along the river. We recommend renting bikes at Truckee River Bikes across from the Palisades entrance (be sure to check out the 1960 Winter Olympics flame) and riding to Tahoe City to grab lunch on the lake (Sunnyside and Jake's are both good options). If you embark on this adventure, be aware that it's about 10 miles round trip so bring a water bottle!
Kings Beach
Looking for a beach day? Head down to the lake and post up at King's Beach. Beyond lounging in the sand, you can rent a kayak, jet ski, floating bike, or go parasailing. Whitecaps is the go-to spot for mid-afternoon pizza!
Golf
For anyone else that's planning to join the PGA Tour like Ben, you have to practice, even on your wedding weekend. Plenty of amazing course options in the area - Northstar, Old Greenwood, Martis Camp, Brockway, just to name a few.
Gar Woods Grill & Pier
A Claus family favorite. Good food in a gorgeous setting by the lake. Get a Woody - but beware - more than one may knock you on your ass.
Chickadee Ridge
Did you also enter your 30s and discover a love of birding? Head to Chickadee Ridge! An easy 2-mile hike along the Tahoe Rim Trail, at Chickadee Ridge, the birds will fly right into your hands.
Truckee River Float
A 5-mile leisurely raft ride down the beautiful Truckee River! We invite all to join us on a float Sunday following the wedding. Be sure to pack a lunch and drinks!
