The wedding is being held at the Kortright Centre. (It's a nature reserve. Lots of trees, very pretty.) The address is 9550 Pine Valley Drive; the entrance is on the west side of Pine Valley Drive, about halfway between Rutherford Road and Major Mackenzie Drive. When you're driving along Pine Valley Drive, you'll want to look on the west side of the road for a tall grey vertical sign that says "Kortright". That marks the beginning of the driveway. Kortright has a very long driveway, and there will be a couple little turn-offs before you get to our spot. (Seriously, you might be driving on the driveway for a few minutes.) Keep going past the two little turn-offs until the driveway opens up into a larger parking lot to your left. After you've found a place to park, the walking path that takes you to the visitor centre is at the northwest corner of the parking lot, or the far corner from where you drove in.
Yes, we are making arrangements to have a shuttle bus bring all the out-of-town guests from Novotel Vaughan to the Kortright Centre (and back again at the end). We will be making final arrangements for that by the end of April, when we hope to have our final head count. We'll update the website as soon as we have all the information. (Please remember to make your hotel reservations by April 17th!)
No. If we’re very lucky the spring weather might allow us to have the ceremony just outside the main hall, on a laneway at the edge of the forest. The woods will be a pretty backdrop, but we won't actually be going into them. We're also keeping our fingers crossed that we get to have a s'mores pit! That would also be just outside the doors to the venue. Lunch and dancing will definitely be inside.
If your invitation was addressed to you “and guest” then absolutely! Just make sure you include them in your RSVP.
Cocktail attire is welcome.
No, the catering will not be kosher, but we do have a vegetarian option for those who would prefer it, and none of the food will contain either pork or shellfish.
We love kids, but we also aren’t expecting to see any at the wedding and we haven’t made any arrangements for their care or entertainment.
There is a wheelchair-accessible entrance and an elevator in the venue. (I was still in my wheelchair the first time Adam and I went on a tour, and I was so happy to be able to get all over the place!) If you need some special accommodations to get into the building, please let us know ahead of time so we can make sure everything goes smoothly for you!
No, we will not! Unfortunately, the cuteness just doesn't quite outweigh their penchant for chaos.
Please get back to us by April 17th.
Please contact Gilda Spitz at gilda.spitz@gmail.com. She’s very in-the-know, and would be happy to help.
