Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive at Canyonwood Ridge by 4:30. The ceremony will begin promptly at 5:00 pm. If you are driving, there is ample parking at the venue. Uber and Lyft can be unreliable getting back to Austin from Dripping Springs and the drinks will be flowing, so we highly recommend taking advantage of the shuttles we've coordinated that will pick up and drop back off at the JW Marriott in downtown Austin or carpooling with other guests.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

Yes! We have coordinated several shuttles that will be picking up from the JW Marriott in downtown Austin at Congress and E 2nd Street. The buses will leave Austin at 3:45pm to arrive at the venue a little before 4:30pm. The buses will also run service back to Austin every 30 minutes starting at 9pm.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code is semi-formal -- think cocktail dresses and suits. The Texas heat is no joke, and neither is our air conditioning. Wear something light enough to be comfortable outside (ties are optional), and maybe bring a light layer to throw on indoors as well. Cowboy (or cowgirl) boots are not only welcomed but encouraged.

Question

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will be outdoors overlooking the Texas hill country. Dinner will be indoors in the very large reception hall. We will be keeping the doors open and using the full venue for our reception to provide maximal ventilation and space. The grounds will be open all night to explore, enjoy a drink outside, or even take the dance party outside. Be sure to bring your sunglasses and your sunblock -- Texas knows how to serve up the UV rays! Both the pre-wedding event on Friday night and the after party will be outdoors.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Although we love all the kiddos in our lives, our wedding is adults-only. We hope you will understand our decision to make the wedding children-free, and take the opportunity to let your hair down and celebrate in style!

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

We've booked blocks of hotel rooms at the JW Marriott in downtown Austin (where the bus will pick up from and drop back off to after the wedding), the Stephen F. Austin Hotel, and at the Ramada South Austin, all of which are approximately 25-30 minutes away from the wedding venue. There are also tons of hotels and airbnbs in and around Austin and Dripping Springs, so please feel free to book your own accommodations.

Question

Are you asking people to get vaccinated before attending the wedding?

Answer

We are very, very strongly requesting that everyone get their vaccine as soon as it is available to them, and to do so before the wedding so that we can celebrate safely together. Science is a miracle, vaccines are tremendously effective, and we are in the strongest terms asking everyone to please get vaccinated to keep our families, our friends, and our vendors safe and healthy. We have additionally re-confirmed with our venue and all of our vendors that all vendors and staff will be wearing masks. Much of our wedding is outside, but we will also be asking guests to please wear masks when indoors and when interacting with vendors and staff. We will be providing personalized masks for guests as well!
