Here are some things you can enjoy at Apple Hill- Apple Picking: While apple picking is popular in September, some orchards may still offer it into early October. Check with individual farms for availability. Pumpkin Patches: October is prime time for pumpkin patches. Many farms feature pumpkin patches and related activities, making it a festive experience. Baked Goods and Cider: Indulge in fresh apple pies, cider, and other baked treats available at various farms. These seasonal delights are a highlight of the visit.

Difficulty: Easy to Moderate Length: 2.3 miles Description: A shorter, family-friendly trail with access to beautiful pine forests and views of the surrounding area. It’s great for a casual hike and for those looking to explore the Foresthill area more leisurely. Highlights: Pine forests, wildflowers, and birdwatching opportunities.

It’s also a great spot for a picnic. Highlights: Panoramic views of the valley, proximity to the town, short and accessible.

Distance: 3 miles Difficulty: Moderate Elevation Gain: 500 feet Estimated Duration: 1.5 to 2 hours (round trip) Panoramic Views: The trail offers fantastic viewpoints of the American River Canyon. From here, you can look out over rugged terrain, the river winding through the valley, and even the Sierra Nevada mountains in the distance. Foresthill Bridge: Once you reach the top, you get a close-up view of the bridge itself. The Foresthill Bridge is a popular spot for visitors to take in its massive height and grandeur. There are plenty of spots around the bridge for taking photos and enjoying the vista. If you're daring, you can even walk out on the bridge itself for an incredible perspective of the canyon below.

Auburn is part of the larger Sierra Foothills wine region. Spend some time tasting local wines at nearby wineries. Many wineries offer beautiful views of the surrounding hills and countryside.
