Love in Enemy Territory

It all started in September with a haunted house, a bar, and just enough alcohol to give Meagan the confidence of a frat boy on homecoming weekend. By the time Sean arrived for their first date, she was already 4 shots and 2 beers in, buzzing with nerves and ready to be a menace. He casually paid both their tabs without blinking, clearly unaware he was about to fall for a woman who pregames first dates like it’s the Super Bowl. That first date was surprisingly effortless. No awkward silences. No screaming in the haunted house. Just easy conversation, lots of laughter, and a spark that felt different. Before the night even ended, Meagan sent a bold text: “I’m going to marry this guy.” Spoiler: she was right. Somewhere along the way, we became parents, twice. Our two daughters, Sawyer and Clara, are the center of our world. Sawyer brings the sass, the energy, and the toddler-level negotiation skills. Clara brings the snuggles, the chaos-in-training, and the constant reminder that sleep is a distant memory. They’ve made this life louder, funnier, fuller, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. We balance each other out in so many ways. She’s loud. He’s steady. She handles chaos. He handles her. And to this day, she yells at the TV like she’s part of the Packers’ coaching staff while Sean stands behind her quietly, like a man emotionally bracing for yet another fourth-quarter meltdown from the team or his fiancée. Now they’re making it official. And no, this isn’t just so Meagan can finally stop calling him her “baby daddy” in public, but it helps.
