The wedding is on the beach so button up shirts, long or short sleeved, and dress shorts or light dresses/outfits are good. Please avoid wearing flip-flops or beach shoes, t-shirts, or bathing suits.
Although the Tulum airport is closer to the resort it's a "1 hour" drive from both airports. However, the duration is increased by the shuttle dropping off guests at other resorts. It is likely the drive from Tulum airport would be faster, as the Cancun shuttle makes several stops along the way.
General sunny weather clothing, sunscreen, and footwear, as well as nicer wear for restaurant dining. We also recommend bug spray and water shoes as some areas can have bugs at night, and the sand is rocky in the water.
Mexican Pesos are always accepted, as well as USD and lastly CAD (although CAD isn't very useful in Mexico). Ensure you purchase currency before travelling. Tips vary by person, but generally you'll be tipping $10-20 per day, so take that into account when purchasing currency. Once at the resort you won't need to purchase anything, besides shopping items or upgrades, which can be done with card.
The ceremony is outdoors with dinner being served indoors. There is a cocktail hour before dinner which is also outdoors.
We will be arriving January 27th and leaving February 3rd.
No, travelling to our wedding is enough for us. Simply bring yourselves and well wishes.
If your flight doesn't already include a shuttle service to the resort, you can book a private shuttle from the link below. It's not advised to take taxis as they are very expensive, so book your travel in advance. https://rivieramayaconcierge.com.mx/destination/puerto-aventuras-akumal/
Yes. There are many restaurants that can be booked in advance before your stay. This can be done through the Bahia Principe app, the booking feature becomes available 10 days before your arrival.
The dinner is a Mexican buffet style, so you can choose whatever food you like. There are options for vegetarians as well.
If your flight package doesn't include a shuttle already, you can book a private shuttle to/from the airport for yourselves. Personally we've never used a the service, but the website below seems to be recommended by hotels. https://rivieramayaconcierge.com.mx/services/
