As both young civil engineers early in our careers, we volunteered with a non-profit engineering society. Little did we know that our increased time together over our shared passion and similar interest would lead to a "casual" Thursday night dinner. Ruwanka just left the gym, and Claris just wrapped up a banquet event where she was on stage and didn't get a chance to eat. 15 minutes later, we met at a sushi spot in Little Tokyo and the rest is history.

As 2020 forced many of us to change our ways of life, we found joy in exploring the great outdoors including Zion, Sequoia, and Sedona. For our 2 year anniversary, we decided to make a trip to Yosemite with our siblings. The day was filled with several hikes, laughs, and an amazing sunset. It was during our photo at Taft Point, that Claris said we should do something fun for our next photo, and Ruwanka took a knee.
