This is an outdoor wedding on the side of mountain (it’s not very steep or treacherous, but it’s also not paved, so plan your footwear accordingly!). The wedding and reception will both be outside in the large clearing. The property is in the mountains somewhat out of the way. Some of the roads on the property are dirt/gravel. We were able to navigate them fine in a regular car. We had reception on the property, but it wasn’t amazing. I doubt the roads to/from the property are well-lit at night.
There should be ample parking on the property but there isn’t one, large parking lot. It will be park-as-you-are-able, alongside the roads that wind around the property, in the driveway, next to the cabins, etc. Please carpool if at all possible.
The rehearsal dinner is casual. For the wedding, we are hoping for semi-formal attire but recognize this is an outdoor wedding and we want everyone to feel comfortable, so please dress in a way that makes you feel celebratory and like yourself! Sparkly jumpsuits, bolo ties, and crushed velvet highly encouraged. Steven's sister, Cynthia, created a color scheme for us. Check it out near the end of the Photo Gallery for inspiration - but no pressure to stick to those exact colors.
We will have a photographer and ask people not to take photos during the ceremony. Please feel free to take pictures and videos other times, but we hope that people can mostly enjoy being present together.
The rehearsal dinner will be a casual cookout. For the wedding dinner, we will have have a food truck on the property serving multiple options of elevated southern cuisine.
This is a mostly outdoor weekend, and we have been told not to use the bathrooms inside the house and cabins for the events. Instead, w have hired a very fancy little outdoor restroom, as required by our venue, so get excited for that.
This is a small, intimate wedding, and we're trying to minimize outside people at the venue. If you'd like to help out with the wedding logistics, we would be happy to find a small task (e.g., like starting the fire, helping grill at the rehearsal dinner, decorating, etc.) that matches your interests and time availability. Absolutely no pressure though.
Our dog, Betty, who many of you have already met, will be in attendance (leashed).
