Yes, we are providing a full open bar with premium liquors and mixers. Soft drinks and water will also be available. Please make sure to tip the bartenders throughout the night to show your appreciation!
Appetizers will be passed during the cocktail hour - fried boudin balls, smoked sausage with a pepper jelly glaze, and spinach & artichoke bread. Two entrees will be served - apple glazed pork loin and chicken & sausage jambalaya. These entrees will be accompanied by praline sweet potatoes and a caesar salad. Kid-friendly snacks will be provided (chips, crackers, pouches, etc.), but if your child has any specific dietary restrictions or preferences we encourage you to bring food for them. The traditional wedding cake and grooms cake will also be served. The wedding cake will be red velvet with cream cheese frosting and the grooms cake will be carrot cake with cream cheese frosting.
Garden Party. For the ladies - think sundresses, floral patterns, palazzo pants, and wedges/chunky heels/sandals. The bridesmaids will be wearing not-floor-length sage green or dusty blue dresses, but feel free to also wear those colors if you have something that works or just want to! For the fellas - think light colored suits (greys, tans, creams, etc.), button down shirts with slacks/khakis, boat shoes/nice sneakers/loafers. The groomsmen won't be wearing jackets, so don't feel like you need to be super formal with this.
Funny story - we initially ordered the Save the Dates and included a line saying "invitation to follow" but after taking the time to set up this website and include so much information we decided that a formal invitation isn't really necessary. So, no - formal invitations will not be mailed out. However, the Save the Dates still say "invitation to follow" cause they're expensive to re-print, so...whoops!
Children of the bridal party are invited, but children of folks not in the bridal party are not specifically invited. That being said, we want you to be able to come to our wedding and celebrate with us, so if the only way you can come is to bring your children too, then we'll make it work.
Activities for the children in attendance will be provided (coloring books, simple games, self-contained toys, etc.) and a couple babysitters/nannies will be hired for the reception, to make sure there are dedicated eyes on the kids and they're not getting up to too much mischief while the parents/caregivers celebrate with the bride and groom.
The ceremony will begin at 6:00 PM and guests will be ushered directly from the parking lot through a side gate to the courtyard for the ceremony. We recommend that guests arrive between 5:30 and 5:50 PM to ensure everyone has time to get settled before the ceremony begins.
Yes, the Pin Oak Ballroom and its designated parking is to the left when you pull into the property driveway.
Yes, this venue has two event centers - the Live Oak Ballroom & Courtyard and the Pin Oak Ballroom & Courtyard. Our ceremony will take place in the Pin Oak Courtyard and our reception will take place in the Pin Oak Ballroom. Once on the property, turn left to access the Pin Oak side of the venue.
Plus-ones will be provided for those in committed, serious relationships only. You and your significant other will be able to RSVP together under your name using this website if a plus-one has been provided for you.
So, we've talked to the owner and they assured us that any festivities from the festival should be over by the time folks are arriving for the ceremony, but just in case there are any potential delays on LA 22 we recommend that people stay on I-12 and use the Airport Rd/N Hoover Rd exit to reach the venue.
