In November of 2023, Claire and Spencer had their first date at Blackberry Market in Glen Ellyn—the town where they both grew up. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect: Claire had just moved back from Orange County, California that summer, setting the stage for their paths to finally cross. Although they met on a dating app, it quickly became clear that invisible strings had been connecting them all along. They shared countless similarities and uncanny overlaps in their lives that made it feel as though they had known each other forever. Claire and Spencer both went to Glenbard West High School—though at different times. Claire was a freshman when Spencer was a senior. They knew many of the same people but never crossed paths. They later discovered that they even shared the same jersey numbers in sports. Spencer wore #7 and #27 in football and baseball, while Claire wore those exact numbers on the field hockey team. Life had placed them side by side before, too. When Claire was at DePaul, living on George Street in Lakeview, Spencer lived just one block away on Sheffield—yet somehow, they never met. The connections didn’t stop there. When Spencer met Claire’s family, they discovered that Claire’s mom had vintage photos purchased years ago from Spencer’s mom’s shop, Paris to the Moon, in downtown Glen Ellyn. Despite all these near-misses, fate finally brought them together in November 2023—and once it did, everything clicked. Their romance took off, and they quickly became inseparable. Today, Claire and Spencer are a family of three with their sweet newborn, Levi. They’ve built a home together in Glen Ellyn and are savoring this new season of life. Now, they’re preparing for their happily ever after.
