FAQs

The Wedding Website of Claire Copher and James Silverthorn
We understand that a lot goes into a wedding, both planning and attending one! Please see below for guidance on traveling, attendance, and general information on our wedding weekend. Should you have any specific questions, please reach out to our wonderful wedding planner, Jasmine Plaza, at Plazaandco@gmail.com.
Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love your kiddos, but we respectfully request no children at the wedding, allowing all of our guests to enjoy an adults-only event.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

The attire for the Welcome Party will be Pool Party Chic - think bold, bright colors and springtime dresses/suits (but dress accordingly should you wish to swim). For the Wedding, Black Tie Formal attire is requested. Gentlemen should wear formal suits or tuxedos, while ladies are asked to wear elegant evening gowns. Please see the Schedule of Events page for links to our Pinterest boards for attire recommendations and inspiration.

Question

Will there be alcohol?

Answer

Yes! Alcohol will be available at all events. The Welcome Party will feature a cash bar at the hotel’s bar by the pool. During the Wedding we will have an open bar for all of our guests to enjoy complimentary drinks throughout the event.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We are unable to accommodate additional guests due to venue capacity. Thank you for your understanding.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The Villa gates close at 2:20pm, and the ceremony will start promptly at half past two o'clock in the afternoon. Please arrive no later than two o'clock to get settled.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

There is very limited parking at Villa del Sol d’Oro. We highly encourage using a ridesharing service to enjoy the night!

Question

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

Please feel free to take as many photos as you like throughout our wedding celebration, but note that we have hired an incredible photographer (also named Claire) to capture the event. Preferably, no phones will be in our ceremony photos, but the bride loves pictures, so if you do take some during the ceremony, make them good! There will be a QR code for a shared album at your reception seat that will allow you to upload every photo you take throughout the evening. We’d love to see our special day through your eyes!

Question

Things to Note.

Answer

Please turn your phone on silent during the celebration. Incoming calls, texts, or emails will interrupt the day. Please do not wear jeans, shorts, t-shirts, tank tops, or flip flops. Ladies, please do not wear white, cream, or similar colors.
