James and Claire met during their first year of law school, on zoom. One Thursday night, Claire hosted a party (shocker) and told her girlfriends to invite any classmates they wanted to get to know more. James had been invited (that friend clearly had good taste) and the flirting began. A couple of weeks later, after a midterm, that same friend invited James to come out to celebrate at a bar, but this time the invitation was on Claire’s behalf. James was slowly picking up on the fact that Claire liked him, but it still took a double text from Claire for him to finally get the hint. James asked Claire out on a date, and planned a whole day for the two of them to spend together. Knowing she was new to the area, James took her to a well-known brunch spot, then to the Crocker Art Museum, and finally to Old Town Sacramento. James revealed he had asked his whole family for advice on how to make the date perfect. And it was. Fast forward five years, James and Claire graduated from McGeorge together, studied for and passed the California Bar Exam together, bought and remodeled a house together, and raise three cats together. James asked Claire's father, mother, and brother for their support when he proposed, promising each of them that he would love and care for Claire and their relationship for the rest of his life. Of course, the three of them had no hesitation in giving him their blessing. James involved the whole family in planning and executing the proposal; his family helped him set up, and her family kept her occupied and distracted. James proposed in the most romantic way possible, in the house they bought together, on the tile entryway they installed together, representing the home and life they have built together from the ground up. It was absolutely perfect. Now they embark on their next milestone together—marriage!
