Havenroot is a retired 1950s Boys Scout camp on 200 acres of land in Veneta, Oregon. Veneta is a very small town with a few restaurants, food truck pod, gas stations and grocery stores. Eugene, Oregon (where we live) is approximately a 30 mile drive from Veneta and has everything else you may need. Ubers can operate there with no problem and the road approaching is not safe for walking. On site amenities include: shower/changing house, drinking water, picnic tables, 8 RV sites, 100 camping spaces, 4 yurts, outdoor kitchen, multiple stages, mud wrestling pit (of course) On site activities from the venue: axe throwing and archery range, low ropes course, hiking trails through on-property BLM land, a pond with canoes and a zip line, Disc Golf, and more activities sponsored by yours truly. This venue strives to be handicapped accessible but we will have at least 1 golf cart available on site when needed. The area is nearly free of tripping hazards but if you consider yourself handi-capable then we recommend bringing your favorite walking stick of any sort (No shame in having one. The groom will definitely have one and it could prove to be a very stylish accessory). Prepare to be outdoors all day and night when at the venue. We insist on function over fashion when it comes to shoe choice. Remember layers. We will have a safe place for guests to store belongings if they are not overnighting at the venue. We've included your date in your invite. If you would like to request any additional guests, please ask us.
Here be the link to our gift registry: https://www.myregistry.com/wedding-registry/ian-bergstrom-and-claire-nafziger-eugene-or/5465592 Please also consider curating a "Forest Hootenany / Music Festival" wedding experience in lieu of buying a gift. This will be easier for but not limited to locals and please be considerate of the nature preserve type of venue by avoiding little plastics that will turn into litter. Glitter is limited to Micah - Glitter & Confetti will be plentifully thrown in town and around but not at the venue. Below are some examples which guests have proposed to contribute: Bubble station, disco-laser bicycle, 3 course disc golf set-up, drunk cooking breakfast tacos Sunday morning, Tipper chill lounge in a yurt, live performance or dj set during the Sunday Funday reception. Other ideas we propose: DIY henna tattoo station, body painting station, bring a cooler full of cheese, build a sauna on site (Bryan Mazor;)), interpretive dance routine, finger-painting table, display your art, sock puppet show, Alice in Wonderland tea party in the woods, petting zoo, etc.
Yes.
Yes, plenty of it.
In general, September is warm (70s & 80s during the day). It is cooler after the sun goes down - please prepare with layers. September is wonderful because mosquito season is mostly over.
We want everyone to be comfortable and be ready to sit in the dirt or go for a hike. We're in the woods - you're going to get dirty. Of course we love a little pizzaz (sparkles, wacky style and sillyness is always encouraged), but please do not wear stilletto heels or your finest evening gown. Think backwoods forest hootenany, not ballroom fashion show. Please refer to link for ideas.
