Lake Eola Park
Lake Eola Park is located in the heart of Orlando, with a sidewalk that circles the lake 0.9 miles in length. The park is home to Orlando's famous swans, rainbow Amphitheater, & swan-shaped paddle boats. The park hosts all kinds of festivals and events. The area is surrounded by local stores, restaurants, bars, and coffee shops.
Park Ave Winter Park
Great walkable area with an abundance of stores, restaurants, and cafes. Some favorites are: Bosphorous (Turkish), Umi (Asian fusion), Mares (Peruvian), Prato (Italian), and the Wine Room (wine & cheese/charcuterie).
Scenic Boat Tour of Winter Park
Short but jam packed boat tour with amazing views of wildlife, historic properties, and local storytelling!
Kelly's Homemade Ice Cream
Local favorite for delicious homemade ice cream- several locations around Orlando. You are never far away from a Kelly's location!
Mills 50 Area
Mills 50 is a neighborhood with an amazing variety of Asian restaurants, dessert cafes, Boba shops, and bakeries.
John F. Kennedy Space Center
About an hour from Orlando, this is an amazing day-long experience exploring NASA's Kennedy Space Center. Highly recommend.
Orlando Science Center
Located just minutes from downtown this is a local gem! With four floors of interactive exhibit halls, labs and workshops, theaters, an observatory, and experiences that change with the seasons, there is always something exciting to do.
Sampaguita Ice Cream
Another family favorite- Filipino ice creak and desserts! They let you sample before making your decision what to order!
Orlando Museum of Art
Another local gem, the OMA has a great variety of rotating installations. The OMA is home to a beautiful Chihuly sculpture "Citron & Cobalt" under a glass dome. A great visit for 1-2 hours.
Downtown Mount Dora
About 45 mins north of Orlando, this is a cute and walkable downtown with shops, restaurants, and cafes. Claire lived in this area before moving to Orlando. Stores are generally only open during the day.
