Travel to Greece

There are 7 airports and cities in the US that offer direct flights to Athens, Greece including Chicago, Boston, New York, Atlanta, Washington DC, Philadelphia, and Newark. You can also fly directly to Heraklion, Crete from larger cities like London, Paris, Rome, Frankfurt, Istanbul, etc if you would like to avoid transfer in Athens. We recommend using Google Flights (linked below) to explore your flight options and try to book at least 6 months in advance for cheaper prices!

Travel to Rethymnon (Wedding Location)

There are two options to reach Rethymnon. Fly: • The fastest way to get to Rethymnon is to fly directly to Heraklion or Chania which are both ~1 hr from Rethymnon. You can reach Heraklion & Chania via Athens or directly from many European cities such as London, Rome, Paris, and more. The flight time from Athens to Heraklion or Chania is ~45 minutes. Ferry: • You can ferry from Athens (Piraeus Port) or other islands i.e. Santorini. You can ferry to both Heraklion & Chania, however the ferry from Athens takes approximately 8 hrs. Once in Heraklion & Chania - Transport to Rethymnon - we will have more details on transportation options as we get closer to the wedding date! • Both locations are ~1 hr from Rethymnon, with several options for transport. 1. Taxi - ~90-120 euro 2. Private Transport - if you are arriving with a group, you can arrange a private transfer/van ~130-150 euro 3. Car Rental - if you plan on extending your trip on Crete, there are options to rent a car so you can explore the island 4. The least expensive option is via bus, which transports from both Heraklion & Chania. Where to Stay -

There are a wide variety of hotels and villas in Rethymnon. We recommend staying in Old Town for a more authentic and walkable experience or a bit further from Old Town if you prefer a hotel with more amenities! Below are a few great options for each, but feel free to book anywhere else you may prefer!
