Chelsea and Juan met freshman year of high school. Chelsea and Juan both noticed each other in Biology class that first day of school. Chelsea and Juan quickly became friends, as they had many classes together. Throughout the course of high school they continued to share classes together and became closer friends. The summer before senior year, Chelsea and Juan both admitted their feelings for one another and decided to take the next step towards a relationship. Once senior year began, the two developed a deep and genuine connection that could not be denied. Their long friendship had served as the perfect foundation to begin their relationship together. On December 07, 2012, Juan surprised Chelsea in their high school parking lot (with the help of his best friend Michael, of course) and asked her to be his girlfriend. This day changed their lives in the most unimaginable way.

Memorial Day Weekend 2021, Chelsea and Juan were in Boston for a last minute getaway. That weekend, Chelsea and Juan had fun exploring. Juan had suggested that the following weekend the two go out for Chelsea's birthday, which is June 3rd. Chelsea, unsuspecting, enjoyed the long weekend in Boston and agreed to attend the surprise birthday dinner the following weekend. The couple's time in Boston only confirmed everything Juan already knew. He wanted nothing more than to marry Chelsea and he was going to pop the question the next weekend! Juan had asked for each of her parent's blessing. On June 05, 2021, Chelsea had agreed to proctor the SAT's early in the morning. Little did Chelsea know what Juan had spent quite some time planning for later that day. When Chelsea arrived home from work, Juan had prepared an evening full of surprises. It began with a sealed envelope. This envelope had strict instructions for the adventure they were about to embark on--NO QUESTIONS. As Chelsea mustered up as much self-control as she could, she couldn't help but ask, "what is happening?" As the evening unfolded, Juan drove Chelsea to each location of all eight of their anniversaries passed. At each location, a new envelope came. Juan had written heartfelt letters to Chelsea for each location they stopped at, remembering the amazing moments they shared at these special times in their relationship. With the letters, Juan had also compiled photos of the two from past years. Each envelope brought tears to Chelsea's eyes. The final destination of the evening was top secret and so required a blindfold. Juan helped Chelsea out of the car and carefully lead her to the spot where she was allowed to remove the blindfold. When Chelsea opened her eyes, the two were standing in a heart made of rose petals in their high school parking lot. Juan held her hands in his and shared the most heartfelt and touching words of all. He got down on one knee and took out the most gorgeous ring. Juan asked that magical question and Chelsea could not say yes fast enough. Through joyful tears, the two shared hugs and kisses and Juan slipped the ring on Chelsea's finger. Juan had worked so hard to set up a truly unforgettable moment (with the help of his best friend Michael, of course). But the surprises weren't over quite yet. Juan had also arranged for their closest loved ones to celebrate the moment with them back at their home. The night ended surrounded by friends, family, great food, a campfire and champagne. The two could not have been happier and the day could not have been more special. Just like that, the adventure continued, right where it all began.
