Michael has been blessed to have his brother Ben in his life since he was 2 years old. They have been best friends, teammates, and business partners, so it’s fitting Ben is now Michael’s co-best man. Together, they played hockey in the basement, mini-sticks in the hall, and had many spirited games of Monopoly, Risk, Euchre, and Catan at the lake. Regardless of whether Ben is aggressively running the bases on the diamond, showing his competitive fire on the ice and golf course, placing confident bets at the blackjack table, dancing, or making up lyrics to songs he thinks he knows, life is always more fun with him around. Ben is a proud husband to Stef and father to Brynn and Rhett. Michael is honored to have Ben be his co-best man and is excited for the good times to continue.

Paddy Sexton
Best Man
Life has always been better with Michael’s youngest brother Paddy around. Despite his laid back attitude and fun-loving personality, he and Michael enjoyed a brotherly rivalry playing Euchre, Monopoly, Risk, Catan, and video games. Growing up, when not hiding in his bedroom “studying math”, mucking potato chips, and binging pre-Netflix shows on putlocker and sockshare, Paddy worked hard to become a bruising defenseman who terrorized the BCHL and scored the biggest goal in Penticton Vees' history. This former Badger and die-hard Survivor fan entertained Michael in Madison and took him to a football game, chauffeured him around town on his scooter, and even picked up the tabs at the famous KK. Michael is honored to have Paddy be his co-best man and is excited for the good times to continue.

Elias has been Michael’s best friend since the 2nd grade. Growing up in Kanata, they played hockey, ate Elias’ mom Carm’s famous pasta, watched sports, and traveled to Italy. Elias, who first coined Michael’s nickname 'Boosty' and cemented it with his loud voice, is someone you always want on your team, despite his quick and witty one-liners often being more on point than his slappers from the point. While failing to reach his childhood dream of becoming a professional food taster, he is a talented and successful contractor who flips homes, builds decks, and converts dive bars into chic gastropubs. This husband and father enjoys golfing, playing hockey and softball, managing the Wolfpack softball team, grilling meats, and sipping fine Italian red wine in his suburban backyard oasis.

Evan Riggs

Michael and Evan went to high school together and played on the varsity hockey team where Evan excelled as a stay-at-home defenseman. Along with many of the groomsmen, he and Michael have taken trips to Montreal, Miami, Vegas, and Tampa, and like his role on the ice, Evan stayed at home a few times to recover from the night before. However, when he does stay awake past 8 pm, he has a propensity to go on absolute heaters at the blackjack table and roulette wheel, placing confident bets and never being shy to "let it ride". For the Wolfpack softball team, Evan chases high pitches outside the strike zone and makes aggressive base running decisions. This successful HVAC entrepreneur, husband, and father will definitely bring his large frame and outrageous dance moves to the dance floor.

Dillon Leeder

Michael and Dillon have been buddies since birth and have spent countless hours at the lake fishing, playing cards and sitting around the fire with a guitar. They also played hockey and softball together and at softball, Dillon always brought his best effort, whether he was running down fly balls in the outfield or serving up post-game beers and grilled meats. Less dependable though is his rapidly aging body and his deplorable sense of direction. This former Canadian Idol contestant, loyal McDonald's customer, fast food connoisseur, and sports fan loves researching depth charts and conducting mock drafts for his often underachieving fantasy football team. Despite his deteriorating body, this husband and father will undoubtedly be heard and seen on the dance floor with his unmatched energy.

Michael and Pete grew up together in Kanata, playing hockey on the outdoor rink and mountain biking the treacherous Beaver Pond trails. Pete’s ambition took him to Toronto where he met his wife and utilized his high IQ and relentless work ethic to become one of the city’s top insurance brokers. This huge Sens, Jays, Raptors, and hockey analytics fan has never lost a debate on sports or politics and his passion for his teams is perhaps only matched by his passion for supplementing his income through strategic online sports wagers. Pete is your go-to guy if you need to add a 6th game to your college football parlay or are looking to hammer a Tuesday night Hawks-Magic prop bet. Pete returns to Boston for the first time since he and Michael took in 3 Jays/Sox games and saw Papi’s final dinger.

Adam Emmerton

Michael and Adam played hockey and went to high school together in Kanata. Once the owner of the email address im_da_greatest_b_ball_playa_in_da_world@hotmail.com, Adam’s life has had many phases and he and Michael have been buddies through them all. He evolved from a privileged suburban ‘gangster’, wearing chains and basketball jerseys, to an emo wearing shoelace belts and blasting Fall Out Boy, to frequenting the continent’s EDM music festivals, to becoming a mature professional and health-conscious vegan. Before following love to Toronto, Adam starred on the Wolfpack softball team where his athleticism routinely stretched singles into doubles and prevented line drives from finding gaps in the outfield. He and his newlywed wife now call Ottawa home again.

Matt has been one of Michael’s closest friends for as long as he can remember. Together they played road hockey for hours, won a Silver Stick Championship, had countless competitive games of Euchre and backpacked around Europe where they never said no to a pub crawl and island-hopped across Greece. A former goalie turned pharmacist was not your typical goalie and has become a true connoisseur of craft beer and fine Irish malts. When not kicking back in his swanky city mansion with his wife, and daughter, Matt enjoys spending time outdoors, camping in the woods, caring for his expensive puppy, and criticizing Ottawa Senators owner Eugene Melnyk.

Erick Sharp

Michael and Erick have been buddies since the 1st grade. They were hockey teammates in Kanata, winning back-to-back Silver Stick championships in 2001 and 2002, college roommates at Guelph, and have traveled together, visiting Calgary for the Stampede, Newfoundland for George Street Fest, and Dublin, spending one of the most epic weeks of Michael’s life navigating Harcourt street, drinking Guinness and sipping the finest Irish whiskey. This well-traveled husband, father of two, and talented product manager can be credited with developing and bringing to market many of Canada’s tastiest and unique potato chip flavors. When not busy being a dad, Erick enjoys camping, kayaking, and trying different craft beers.

Adam Lambros

Michael and Adam have been buddies since elementary school. Together they played hockey on the outdoor rink, starred for the Wolfpack softball team, and studied for the GMATs. Adam, an engineer, took his talents to Toronto to earn his MBA and became a real estate developer, who now lobbies politicians, fights with bureaucrats, and structures deals with conglomerates. Adam is always down for sporting events and a good time. He visited Michael in New York where they were overserved at Comedy Cellar, and together have traveled to Miami for a Monday Night Football game and drove through a blizzard for the pre-deflate-gate Pats game. When not being harassed by friends to commit fraud on engineering docs, Adam enjoys golfing, biking, kayaking, and worrying about climate change.
