Stephen and Cirielle’s love story begins over 10 years ago while the two were studying at Syracuse University (Go Orange!). After crossing paths multiple times during their sophomore year, it seemed the two were destined to meet. And so, as fate would have it, the two lovebirds found themselves at the same, very romantic location one night… the classic frat party. It may have been love at first sight, or the musical stylings of “Swagga Like Us” blasting in the background, but the two hit it off immediately and at the end of the night, as Cirielle was leaving with her friends, she gave Stephen her number. Unfortunately, Stephen hadn’t caught Cirielle’s simple name and so the two would not reconnect for several months later, when one of Cirielle’s friends would come across a Facebook photo of an old high school classmate and his friends dressed up as the Spice Girls for Halloween. After seeing Stephen dressed up as Posh Spice, it was obvious that she had to “friend” him on Facebook. Once the friend request came through to Stephen, he remembered coming across her name in his phone and immediately sent Cirielle a private message to see if it was truly her, and to his excitement, it was indeed! From that point on, their adventure together began! After many wonderful years bleeding Orange together, the two embarked on what would turn out to be 5 years of long distance from Washington DC to West Chester (PA) to Baltimore to New York City, accumulating thousands of bus and car miles, along with an extensive amount of Amtrak Rewards points. Finally, the two were reunited in the same state where they immediately embraced the Brooklyn lifestyle becoming coffee aficionados, urban farmers and craft beer lovers!

Stephen had known for a long time that he wanted to ask Cirielle to marry him and wanted to make the proposal as special as possible. So after 2 years of living in the same city and almost 9 years of adventures that spanned the globe, Stephen got down on one knee at the couple’s favorite waterfront spot in Williamsburg and asked Cirielle to be his adventure buddy for life! Given the important value the two have for family and friends, Stephen had not only coordinated a beautiful proposal but had also planned to have all those near and dear to them waiting to celebrate the beginning of this new chapter in their life with them at a surprise engagement party. To add even more to this special day, soon after Stephen popped the question, Cirielle’s mom, who had made the long trip from Puerto Rico, was waiting alongside Stephen’s mom to surprise the two lovebirds as they gleefully took their first steps as an engaged couple. After over 10 years of love, laughter and so much adventure, Stephen and Cirielle are excited to become husband and wife, in what they know will be an even more wonderful and memorable celebration alongside their family and friends in Puerto Rico.
