Ray and I began our journey together in 2019—me, a wide-eyed first-year graduate student, and Ray, deep into his electrician apprenticeship. From the start, we connected through our shared love of music, and it didn’t take long for sparks to fly. Then the world shifted—the pandemic kept us apart for months, but love found a way. We stayed connected through virtual chess matches, movie nights, TV show marathons, and sharing pieces of our cultures by teaching each other how to cook traditional dishes. As the world slowly reopened, we finally got to explore it together, hand in hand. Now, almost seven beautiful years later, we’re ready to celebrate our love story with the people who mean the most to us, in a place that means the world to us—Puerto Rico.
