What airport should we fly into?
Answer
The closest airport is McGhee Tyson Airport (TYS) in Knoxville, about a 30 minutes scenic from Townsend. See the “Travel” page for more info.

Are car rentals recommended?
Answer
Townsend. Renting a car is the easiest way to get around since rideshares are limited in this area. Please see the “Travel” section for more info on car rentals.

Dress code is formal. Townsend itself is very casual (unless visiting Dancing Bear!).

The ceremony, cocktail hour, and dancing will be held outside, weather permitting.

Answer
The weather in Townsend in late March is typically cool and pleasant, with average highs around 62°F and lows near 40°F. The weather in the mountains around this time can be unpredictable, so we recommend dressing in layer - just in case!

Will there be an open bar?
Answer
Yes! We’ll have a full open bar with beer, wine, and signature cocktails. Come ready to celebrate, but please drink responsibly! There will be a shuttle available for guests staying at Tremont Lodge.

What’s there to do in Townsend?
Answer
Townsend is right by the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, so it’s a beautiful spot for hiking, scenic drives, and exploring nature. Cades Cove is a must-see! We’ll have some recommendations on the “Things To Do” page on out website.
