Best Man
David and Sal have been best friends since 2004, when David was a senior in high school. David would often skip school for jam sessions in Sal’s garage-studio along with Sal’s brother, Ricky. They would often hang out until 4am on week nights, followed by late-night Whataburger drive-thru. Throughout the years, Sal has been the most consistent and dependable friend, often hosting David or visiting him despite living hundreds of miles apart. They continue to keep in touch regularly. Although their dreams of becoming rock stars never came to fruition, they are now both battling obesity in tandem.
Bridesmaid
Cindy and Kelsey have been friends since middle school. Their friendship began in band (and marching band) where they both played flute. They both love Grey's Anatomy and often refer to each other as Mer and Cristina. Although Cindy and Kelsey went their separate ways for college (Cindy to GA Tech and Kelsey to UGA), their friendship remained strong and unwavering over the years. Cindy appreciates Kelsey for this long-lasting friendship and loves her dearly with all of her heart!
Groomsman
David and Greg are co-residents at Emory. Since the beginning of their journey in Orthopaedics, they have become steadfast friends. Although many of David’s co-residents have become close, life-long friends as well, Greg hit if off especially well with David from the get-go. At work, they find solace in one another, especially during difficult rotations, and enjoy laughing at each other’s short-comings. Outside of work, they enjoy drinking beer, talking sports, and eating all sorts of food, from Greg’s grillin’ to hole-in-the-wall Chinese food. They can see themselves drinking and eating together for many years to come.
Bridesmaid
Cindy and Hyeji met at GA Tech. They've known each other through mutual friends but became closer as they helped each other through more challenging times in college. They soon became each other's confidant and best friend. While attending GA Tech, they were roommates for 3 years, which allowed them to become sisters from another misters. Hyeji (and Jean) helped David plan his proposal, which is great because there is no-one else in the world (other than Cindy's family and David) who knows Cindy more than Hyeji. Hyeji's friendship is something Cindy cherishes with all of her heart.
Groomsman
David and Andrew were best friends in medical school. A very unlikely friendship was forged by a shared distain of medical school. While they rarely saw each other in school (neither were class-goers), they enjoyed the Honky-Tonks, fried chicken, and whiskey that Nashville had to offer. They also loved debating all things controversial. There was never a dull moment as the two enjoyed fighting with each other, verbally and sometimes physically. Although Andrew cringes at David's use of proverbs, Andrew will always be there for country-music history lessons and grammar tips (and of course a good buffet).
Bridesmaid
Cindy and Jean met when they both worked at an SAT tutoring company. At first, they were just work buddies, but it changed once they both realized that they were a single soul, just in two different bodies. Cindy and Jean's friendship grew from their love of good Hip Hop and Indian food. Jean is one of the few people in the entire world Cindy can just let loose and be herself with and not have to worry about whether or not she is being judged. Cindy holds their friendship close to her heart and can't wait to see what life has in store for the both of them.
Groomsman
Turns out David and Tyler shared a class at the University of Texas at Austin during their final year. David was rudely awakened by a professor in an auditorium of nearly 200 students. He never went back to the class, but that incident created a lasting impression for Tyler, who recalled the incident when they first met at Vanderbilt's Second-look Weekend. David and Tyler ultimately decided to forgo full-rides in Texas for a priceless experience at Vanderbilt. They then "couples-matched" (would have been funny) to Emory, where Tyler is doing a residency in General Surgery. The two have remained close, with David being honored as a groomsman in Tyler’s wedding. Who knows, maybe they’ll end up in the same city after residency.
Bridesmaid
Cindy met Jeanhie at UGA Pharmacy School. They first met during orientation when they were both waiting to use the restroom (weird but true). They bonded over studying for numerous exams and their love of Waffle House hash browns ALL-THE-WAY. Without Jeanhie, Cindy would've been bored and lonely in Athens. Cindy doesn't know how she would've survived and still survive pharmacy school without Jeanhie by her side.
Groomsman
David and Donald have been friends since middle school, and their families have also remained close. Donald was actually David’s only Asian friend growing up. They ran the courts at the local gyms/playgrounds and complemented each other’s play. They made each other better by playing multiple games of win-by-2 to 100 in the hot summer heat of Dallas, Texas. They were supposed to be the first Jeremy Lins (first Taiwanese-American NBA stars), but Donald traded basketball for tennis and David for drums then football. Although David has retired from anything athletic, the two never miss a beat when together. David was recently honored as a groomsman in Donald’s wedding and had a blast reminiscing the good ole days and looking forward to what the future holds.
Bridesmaid
Esther is Cindy's soon to be sister-in-law. They both share the role of being their family's primary translator and record-keeper, a great responsibility that few can shoulder. Cindy feels honored to finally have an older sister who she can look up to and learn from. Cindy considers Esther not just a future sister-in-law, but also a life-long friend.
Groomsman
Jeff is Cindy’s younger brother. Jeff has been very supportive of Cindy and David as he noticed early on that they were a good match for one another. Also, Jeff has hooked David up with his personal Korean-speaking only, hair-stylist, Garam (pronounced Karrum). Jeff also plans to replace David’s two missing left bottom molars for free once he finishes dental school. What a nice brother in law.
Bridesmaid
Joyce is Cindy's future sister-in-law. Ever since Cindy was young, she begged her parents for a younger sister. Although Cindy's parents couldn't grant her wish and gave her a younger brother instead, Cindy is beyond excited that by marrying David, she'll finally get to have a younger sister who she can spoil! Cindy can't wait to pick on David together with Joyce :)
