Cindy and David first met in the Fall of 2014 at a Taiwanese bakery shop in Atlanta. David was doing an away rotation and looking for bubble tea when he smoothly struck a conversation with a girl with gorgeous dimples, much more gorgeous than his own. After exchanging a few pleasantries (smooth talk), David left Cindy his cell phone number and walked off nonchalantly into the sunset. Intrigued, Cindy texted this proud Taiwanese-Texan the next day. She eagerly awaited this handsome boy's response, but David was "too busy" to reply right away and waited until the following day. After all, David did tell Cindy that he is in town only to "tryout" for orthopaedic surgery. It wasn't until they started dating when David revealed that this delayed-texting was just a well-executed strategy, which Cindy still can't believe she fell for. They both shared a deep appreciation for good food, and they laughed at each other's lame jokes and weird quirks. It didn't take long for Cindy and David to realize they were a perfect match for each other, despite being 4 hours away. They loved talking to each other and couldn't wait to hear how each other's day went. Although David initially represented every stereotype that Cindy loathed (former athlete/drummer/med student), they quickly became each other's BFF, confidant, and sweetheart. To both of their excitement, David matched at Emory, and their relationship was no longer restricted to short weekend visits, phone calls, text messages, and 10-second Snapchats of food. Despite both still having busy schedules, with Cindy in pharmacy school and David in residency, they have continued to find time to laugh with each other and enjoy each other's company, picking up a hobby in restaurant/coffee shop exploration (over 250 and counting!). Cindy and David are both beyond blessed to have found one another. They are ecstatic to celebrate their wedding and to spend the rest of their lives together. #itsSHAUtime #sheSHAUdYES
