Katka has been Cindi's favorite confidant, friend, cheerleader, life coach, sounding board, and bartender since she moved to New York City. Katka and Brent were friends long before Cindi showed up in town, but Cindi quickly adopted her. As her own. Katka called the proposal the day of, commenting, "When is he going to get off his ass already?" (Brent proposed just a few hours later.) Katka shares Cindi's sense of adventure and all-in approach to life, and recently endured a 7 hour layover in Kansas City with Cindi, during which she kept the bride-to-be's head from exploding. Katka is the perfect blend of pragmatic, fabulous, and badass.

Cindi and Dena met in graduate school, in the infamous MSDL lab with Julie Liss. It would remiss not to mention Kaity, Rene, Rebecca and Angela in this group, because Dena is going to have to stand in for all of them at once. Early in their friendship, Cindi mentioned that she is old enough to be Dena's mom. Despite the 16 year age difference, it is clear to everyone that knows them both that Dena is the grown-up in this pairing. Dena recently hosted an epic bachelorette party, a skill that combines both her insane organization skills with the love of a good time. Of all the bridesmaids, it is fairly certain that Dena has the most embarrassing stories on Cindi.

Sarahzona! After the first time Cindi met Sarah, Cindi called Sarah's mom and informed her, "I'm keeping her." Big words, since Sarah lived in Alaska at the time and Cindi was in Phoenix. However, she did keep her and Sarah soon moved to Phoenix. Cindi and Sarah have been friends through boyfriends, husbands, ex-husbands, children, first houses, cats and dogs and cars and a million nights in Mexico. She is everything you want in a life-long friend: history so long and deep you can't find the bottom.

Cindi and Amy met at work right after she left New York in 2001. During the time they worked together at Focal Solutions, a crazy band of fools created a life-long friendship. Amy, Ed, Cindi and John spent 8 hours a day working together and then spent another several hours on the barstools of TT's Roadhouse a couple times a week because they all liked each other that much. Amy and her husband, Rob, are quintessential hosts, and recently hosted Cindi and Brent for what they now call their "Proposal-moon" - an epic week of food, wine, and indulgent hospitality in Idaho.

The first time that they met, Ed Lew and Cindi had a two hour conversation about meat jelly. Thus launched a 20+ year friendship that would encompass all shades of their adult lives. Ed is one of Cindi's favorite human beings on earth. Ed serving as officiant was literally the only requirement she had for the wedding, and it is one of Cindi's greatest joys that Brent shares in her appreciation of Ed's delightful, delicious, quirky soul. It is also suspected that Brent really wants to know more about this meat jelly.

Liv is Sarah's daughter, and has been a delight in Cindi's soul since she was conceived. Cindi was there for the family announcement of Liv's arrival, and has been the sparkle in her heart ever since.

Nelson Nelson

Flower Child

We are thrilled to include the ultimate Flower Child to our Flower Team. Nelson was one of the first people Cindi met and was introduced by Brent at Banter when she arrived in NYC, and is part of our crew there. He is also part of Sarah and Mark’s (Brent’s brother and sister-in-law) Phish crew, so there’s crossover to the whole Boylen family. Upon learning we would be getting married, he immediately offered to be our “flower girl”, and we can’t imagine it without him.
