The Wild Basin Lodge venue is a scenic 24 min (13.8 mi) drive to Estes Park, the home base for Rocky Mountain National Park. Here, it is likely you’ll spot wildlife including elk, moose, and possibly even bears! Hotels are abundant, including the Stanley Hotel famous for its role in Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining. There is no shortage of breweries, wineries, restaurants, and hiking trails to explore.
To enter the park, you must have a timed-entry reservation. Reservations are $2! There are 2 types of reservations available: 1) Bear Lake Road Corridor + Full Park Access and 2) Park Access (Excludes Bear Lake Rd Corridor). We recommend opting for the general park access as Bear Lake is an extremely popular section of the park. No spots available? Don’t worry. 25% of entry permits are reserved for last-minute folks and are available for purchase the day prior at 5:00 PM. We recommend getting minutes before 5:00 PM for the best chance. We did this the other week and it worked! :)
