Carytown is a great area for shopping, eating and people watching. We love Carytown Burger & Fries, Galaxy Diner or Perlys for a casual lunch. Spend the afternoon wandering through the shops and looking at cute houses.
Lamplighter is the best place for coffee and a great breakfast sandwich or burrito. I prefer a classic BEC and Pat opts for the breakfast burrito, either way you can't go wrong here! If you feel so inclined after your breakfast, the Fan area is a great place to stroll and go house hunting along Monument Avenue. :)
We love Scott's Addition! There are a number of breweries and restaurants in the area that are easy to hop from one to the next. I lived here when we first started dating and we spent our weekends exploring the neighborhood. Some of our favorite spots are Veil Brewing, Lunch Supper (we had our first date here), Vasen, and Moore Street Cafe.
If you're looking to get outside, we recommend checking out the Buttermilk Trail; it is a great walk along the river! It is an out-and-back trail so you can cater the length to your preference. The Reedy Creek parking area is on Riverside Drive at Hillcrest Road. Other spots to check out in the area with great views of the city and the James River are Belle Isle, Brown's Island, and the Potterfield Bridge.
The Libbie & Grove area has some great spots for a quick lunch and beer. Some of our favorite spots are Continental (must try the vodka limeade!), Jack Brown's Beer and Burger, Taste Unlimited, and Stella's Market.
