Emily and I met in 11th grade U.S. History, when we ended up sitting next to each other and instantly became friends. From that moment on, she’s been one of the most important people in my life. She’s given me my beautiful niece and so many memories I’ll always hold close. When I think of Emily, I think of the color yellow—warm, bright, and someone who brings so much light into the lives of the people around her. I’m so grateful to have her by my side on this day.
