Ciara was visiting the Buffalo area with friends when she and Cody matched on Tinder. They chose a public place - Losson Park in Depew, NY - and spent the evening walking and talking as the sun slowly set. Along the way, Ciara’s friend realized their car keys had fallen out of their pocket somewhere in the park. With no way to get home and park security insisting they return the next day, what could have been a stressful situation turned into something unforgettable. Without hesitation, Cody offered to drive them an hour back home. He even stopped to get drinks and snacks for the ride, making sure they got home safely. What started as a simple first meeting quickly became something neither of them would ever forget - and the beginning of everything.

After reconnecting during a time when the world had slowed down, Ciara knew she wanted to do something special for Cody. She planned a date at Losson Park - the same place they had met for the first time two years earlier. Nervous but excited, she even asked Cody’s best friend beforehand if it would be weird to ask him to be her boyfriend. About halfway through their walk along the trail, she finally asked… and of course, he said yes. For their five-year anniversary, Ciara and Cody planned a week-long trip along the Pacific Coast in Washington State. They explored so many beautiful places, but there was one that stood out - one that felt just right. After a long drive to Cape Flattery, the northwesternmost point of the continental U.S., they set out on a hike along the breathtaking coastline. Surrounded by cliffs, water, and views that felt almost unreal, the moment felt perfectly still. It was there, with the ocean stretching out in front of them, that Cody got down on one knee and asked Ciara to spend forever with him. In a place they’ll always be able to return to, overlooking the water, they said yes to a lifetime together.
