Jauja is 11,000 feet above sea level, so you may feel some symptoms of altitude sickness (loss of appetite, fatigue, shortness of breath) for the first day or two. We'll have medicine and oxygen on hand to help you acclimate if necessary! To help with Altitude Sickness, we recommend you: - Drink plenty of water & stay hydrated. - Eat light & high carb meals, avoid high fat/protein meals. - Speak to your doctor about taking Acetazolamide (Diamox) before arriving. - Arrive as early to Jauja as possible to have maximal time to acclimate!
