On December 17th, 2017, Haley and Chuck were both attending their individual work holiday parties in Chicago and ended up at the famous Kingston Mines blues bar late that night. With a little liquid courage, and a few over the shoulder glances, Haley made her way over to Chuck at the bar. She confidently let him know that she had noticed him looking at her (which he confirmed). She suggested that he should buy her a drink, which he of course did. Now, many years later, he is still buying her drinks and will be doing so for the rest of their lives! Cheers!!

Chuck and Haley headed to Mexico for a vacation with friends in June 2021. A few days into the trip, Haley broke her toe, and then her phone...and then a nail...which Chuck then insisted she get fixed at the resort spa. If that wasn't suspicious enough, Chuck soon let her know that they had a surprise photo shoot planned. They spent the afternoon walking around the resort taking beautiful pictures before ending up on the beach for the final shot. At that point, Chuck went down on his knee as the photographer told Haley to "breathe" and turn around. Little was said other than, "Will you marry me, Honey Bunny?" and of course she exclaimed, "YES!" They ended the night with a private dinner on the beach and a champagne toast with friends before heading back to the states for even more celebrations later that month.
