You - yes YOU- are some of the best friends and family anyone could ever ask for. We feel so incredibly grateful to have you in our lives. And mostly, we wanted a chance to see the people we love in one place - especially after a year and a half of deliberately distancing. So many of our people live in cities all over the country - and this gives us a chance to see you, to eat, drink, and spend time with you, and express how grateful we are that you're in our lives - as we kickstart married life!
As restrictions loosen with more and more people getting vaccinated across the country, we are excited to celebrate with everyone. All our vendors have assured us that this can be a beautiful, meaningful, fun event while keeping everyone safe: * We will closely follow all state, local and CDC guidelines * Outdoor ceremony and dance floor * The vast majority of our guests are fully vaccinated; everyone who is not must take a COVID test * Venue is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized * Plated dinner, no buffet * We will provide colored bracelets to choose from- red, yellow, green- so you can easily indicate your Covid precaution comfort level from a distance (we'll explain more later) * Disposable masks available for those who would like to wear one * Hand sanitizer available throughout
If it weren't for our dogs, we might have never met. We took our dogs to Swiss dog park in Dallas in August of 2018. Duncan walked right up to Dougie, and Chris said "Good morning." It was 5 p.m. That's okay, though, Monica had worked the overnight shift that day and had just woken up from a nap. We exchanged numbers and went out the same night. By the end of the week, we were a couple. And, we were pretty much inseparable. It was fireworks from the beginning. We realized our love of karaoke, making up silly songs for our dogs, the beach, traveling and adventure. We are similar enough to understand each other and different enough to keep things interesting. Most of all, we realized we can't imagine life without each other. Our dogs are still best of friends.
To throw another twist in a whirlwind relationship, Monica got a job offer across the country, in Manchester, New Hampshire, in October - two months after they met. The two took the plunge, and in December, four months into their relationship, they decided to move across the country together.
On Christmas night, while the two were visiting Monica's family in San Diego, Chris and Monica walked out onto the beach under the stars at the historic Hotel Del Coronado, and Chris asked Monica to marry him. And, of course, she said yes.
