We have the property rented from 3:00PM on Thursday May 23, 2019 to 11:00AM on Sunday May 26th, 2019. Please check the Schedule tab for timing info on the welcome dinner, ceremony, etc. PLEASE RSVP ASAP TO THE EVENTS IN WHICH YOU WILL BE ATTENDING SO WE CAN GET A HEAD COUNT!! We encourage everyone to come and stay onsite for all three nights if possible!
The wedding is located in the town of Oakhurst, CA and is about a 20 minute drive from downtown Oakhurst. The name of the venue is Paradise Springs and is located at 52770 Rd 632, Oakhurst, CA 93644. Without traffic, Oakhurst is about 3 hours from San Francisco and 5 hours from Orange County.
There is unlimited space for camping and RVs on site. These will be the most economical options. The cost is $45/night per tent/RV. So, if you rented an RV with 6 people for 3 nights, the total owed is $135 and is payable directly to Paradise Springs. Same goes for camping - say you share a tent with your spouse for two nights, the total owed is $90. There are several hotels in downtown Oakhurst, which is 20 minutes from the venue. We have 20 rooms blocked off at the Best Western Plus Yosemite Gateway Inn. Because this is a holiday weekend, we recommend booking the hotel ASAP. If the room block fills up and you wait to find another hotel room, it may be too late and you'll have no choice but to camp or RV! For booking RVs, please look further down in the FAQ.
Located onsite for everyone to use is the Bathhouse. There are 10 toilets and 10 showers split evenly between the men's and women's side. We walked through the Bathhouse and it looked nice and very clean - this isn't anything like a typical campground bathroom. There are electrical outlets as well! Campers, please bring a towel for the shower!
There is no dress code at any point this weekend. We want you to be comfortable and understand that if you are camping, you aren't really going to want to get glammed up. We honestly wouldn't care if you showed up in shorts and a t-shirt to the ceremony. Our only rule is that you're comfortable. Also, remember that it might get cold at night. If you are staying on-site, it will be easy to run back to camp and grab a jacket as everything is close.
Last year in May, most of the month was mid 70s during the day and between 40-55 degrees at night. Anything can happen though so we shall see what happens. Bring some warm clothes! I will update this with actual weather reports when we are a week out.
Nope. Regardless of if you are camping, RVing, or staying offsite, you can come and hang out whenever you want. Come for one, two, or three nights, but shoot for three :-)
We feel you. We thought the same way until we attended our first Friday wedding and had the entire Saturday to chill with everyone. We really wanted to create a casual, full wedding weekend to be able to spend some quality time with our nearest and dearest, and not just one night of party madness. If you can't make it, we understand, we just think that this will be much more fun!
There will be shuttles running from downtown Oakhurst and the venue on the night of the wedding (Friday). Please keep in mind that when we were there in December 2018, there were ZERO Ubers or Lyfts. It's possible this may change during the busy Memorial Day Weekend. The shuttle is making its first and only trip TO the venue before the wedding ceremony on Friday at 3:15PM at the Best Western Plus Yosemite Gateway Inn. Again, if you want to make it to the ceremony and not drive yourself, you HAVE TO be on this shuttle. As far as going home, the shuttle can make trips back to Oakhurst whenever we want, but the first trip back is tentatively at 10:00pm unless there are people who want to leave earlier. We really really really want ya'll to be with us on-site though. Please consider camping or renting an RV with some friends! There's a chance there will be no Ubers or Lyfts around and that the shuttles or your personal vehicle is the only way to get to and from the venue!!!!
Unfortunately there is very little cell service and zero wifi available. On our tour, it appeared that AT&T had one bar in several places (but we didn't try to make a call, text, or use internet in that time), and there is no wifi. Like we said, it's an adventure!
If you want to camp or rent an RV, it's $45 per night. That means $45 per tent or RV, not per person. Your fee must be paid for by 3/15. In order to pay, please email Debby at debby@paradisespringsmountain.com. Give her the dates you will be staying onsite (May 23-26, 2019) and she will get you all set up.
RVs rent very quickly for Memorial Day weekend so you need to act fast. There are two options: 1. Rent an RV somewhere and drive it to the venue yourself. 2. Rent an RV and have it waiting for you at the venue. For option 2, I have found one company that has delivered to Paradise Springs many times: Yosemite RV Rentlas yosemitervrentals.com yosemitervrentals@gmail.com Here is the email I got from them on 1/7: Our 24' Access sleeps up to 5 adults for $215/night (2 currently available) Our 27' Leprechaun sleeps 5 adults with a bedroom slide out for $235/night (2 available) Our 27' Chateau sleeps 6 adults with a bedroom slide out for $235/night (2 available) Our 29' Four Winds sleeps 6 adults with a living/kitchen area slide out for $250/night (1 available) Our 30' Freedom Elite sleeps 8-10 with two slide outs and bunkhouse for $275/night (1 available) Again, if you want to go with this option, you have to book ASAP. I tried another RV company near Oakhurst and they were sold out!
