About Our Ceremony

The Wedding Website of Mindi Tambellini and Christopher Lemig
Chris and Mindi will host a traditional Life Release Offering as part of their ceremony. Life release is a Buddhist practice of saving the lives of beings that were destined for slaughter and usually involves purchasing an animal from a slaughterhouse or a fishermen. Animals are blessed before being safely returned to their natural environment as prayers are made and dedicated to bless specific people, endeavors, or any new activity. While life release has traditionally been done with live animals, certain Tibetan lamas have commented that the meaning is broad and that people can use their intelligence to expand the practice in other ways. Chris and Mindi are choosing to offer charitable donations to organizations protecting animals from slaughter and euthanasia as part of the Life Release Ceremony. See our Registry page for details on how you can participate in this beautiful practice.
