One day in late November, three and a half years ago, Chris showed up on Mindi's front porch. They had each been on their own for a long time, figuring out being grown ups and trusting that when the time was right, the person they were meant for would appear. Chris had recently moved to Seattle and had been inspired to Mindi's porch on that on that late Autumn afternoon after unwittingly finding himself quite literally in the center of some family drama, that is classic Thanksgiving dinner melttown. Fortunately, said family drama was not his own, but that of the family where he had been boarding since arriving to Seattle, which meant there was a way out. Mindi had a space to rent. And so it was that a Craigslist posting had brought them to this moment. As they chatted, getting to know each other as potential roomies, they discovered they had unknowingly been on a shared path for many years, Chris having fallen in love in his 20's with the Washington Coast where Mindi grew up, both spending time in San Francisco in the 90's, moving to Colorado in the early aughts, both finding Buddhism and being together in the same small village in Northern India, although they never met. Finally, in 2017, Chris decided to fulfill his dream of more then 20 years of moving to Washington. And one bad Thanksgiving dinner was all it took for these two wanderers to finally meet. A knock on the front door, "Hi, My name is Chris..."
