Some of our favorite mtn biking in the Hood River area. We recommend downloading the trail forks app before riding the trail system. You will also need to buy a daily permit to park at any of the staging areas. You can purchase a daily permit on the website provided. These are great maintained trails you don’t want to miss out on!
Go skiing or snowboarding at the inconic Timberline Resort on Mt. Hood. Or simply go and enjoy a quick appetizer/beer or meal at Timberline Lodge right down the road from our venue. No reservations required for dropping into the tavern for a drink and a quick bite. Incredible views of the summit on clear days and a very cool atmosphere for everyone. If deciding to ski or snowboard, you will not be disappointed. Picture it as glacier skiing in spring conditions.
A 3.3 mile out and back hike with decent elevation gain that leads to a beautiful cascading waterfall. Potential wildflowers in the spring. Only an 8 minute drive from Cooper Spur Lodging. The trail requires a recreation pass which is available from the front desk at Cooper Spur.
This nearby lake offers beautiful views of Mt. Hood and lots of recreation. Hiking, paddling, fishing, and swimming ( cold plunging in May). If wishing to fish, make sure you purchase your Oregon fishing license online. Single day fishing licenses are available on the ODFW website.
This trail offers views of Mt. Hood and surrounding peaks such as Mt. Adams. In May the wildflower bloom in the area is pretty incredible. Expect to see balsam root and paint brush. The hiking trail is a 3 mile loop that connects trails and gravel roads.
If driving up from Portland towards the venue, this is an awesome place to stop. Enjoy the lush greenery and paved river trail. There is an also an underwater stream viewing area that’s pretty rad. There is a $5.00 day use fee.

A rad museum for aviation enthusiasts! Located at the Hood River airport (Ken Jernstedt Airfield- 4S2). Not only does it have antique airplanes- it also has cars, tractors and motorcycles too. Keep an eye out on their website, sometimes they offer biplane scenic flights!
