Is there a wedding dress code?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is black-tie optional. We ask that men wear a tuxedo or a dark suit and tie, and women wear an evening gown or midi/knee-length cocktail dress.

Our wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception are adult-only events. Thank you for your understanding!

Where's the wedding ceremony and reception?

Answer

The wedding ceremony and reception are in downtown Springfield, Illinois. The wedding ceremony is at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception located at 524 E Lawrence Ave., Springfield, IL 62703. The wedding cocktail hour and reception are being held at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum located at 212 N. 6th St., Springfield, IL 62701.

Are there accommodations newar the venue of hotel room blocks?

Answer

Yes! We have a hotel block at the Lincoln Presidential DoubleTree hotel in downtown Springfield. Rooms are being offered at a discounted link. Navigate to the "Travel" page at the top of this site to book. The rate is valid for bookings made by May 1st.

Will there be a shuttle to and/or from the hotel?

Answer

Yes! We will offer shuttle services from the Lincoln DoubleTree to the cocktail hour at the museum. We will also offer shuttle services starting towards the end of the reception back to the Lincoln DoubleTree hotel. More details can be found on the "Travel" tab at the top of the site.

What's the wedding itinerary?

Answer

The wedding ceremony will be held at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception at 1:00pm on May 23rd. Cocktail hour will begin in the evening at 5:00pm at the Lincoln Presidential Museum. The reception will begin at 6:30pm immediately follow cocktail hour at the museum. No events are scheduled between the wedding ceremony and cocktail hour.

Are pictures allowed during the wedding ceremony and/or reception?

Answer

While you are welcome to take photos at both events, we hope you choose to be present and leave most of the photos to the professional photographer.

What menu options are there for people with dietary restrictions?

Answer

Dinner at the reception will be served family-style (passed platters at your table). Here is the dinner menu for the evening: Salad: Italian Salad Entree: Guinness Beef Brisket, Black Sesame Salmon Side Dishes: Wild Mushroom Risotto, Brown Butter Green Beans with Garlic Dessert: Hazelnut Chocolate Wedding Cake We hope those with dietary restrictions will be able to help themselves to the dishes that works for them.
