Please check your invitation to see if it includes “and Guest” or the name of your significant other. This will also be indicated when you RSVP. While we’d love to invite everyone with a plus one, we’re working within a limited guest list. Please forgive us if you did not receive a plus one! If you're unsure or if anything is unclear, feel free to reach out to Macy at (559) 514-4275
YES! And the BEST ocean-- the Pacific!
The attire is semi formal. For our wedding Mass, we kindly request that guests dress in a respectful and modest manner.
We are honored to share our wedding Mass with friends and family of all backgrounds, and we want everyone to feel welcome and at ease. During Communion, practicing Catholics who are spiritually prepared are invited to receive the Eucharist. If you are not Catholic or not prepared to receive Communion, you are still welcome to come forward for a blessing. Simply cross your arms over your chest like an “X” when you approach the priest or Eucharistic minister, and they will offer you a quiet blessing. There is no pressure or judgment—just heartfelt gratitude and joy that you are here with us to celebrate in the presence of Jesus!
We have not booked any hotel blocks, but we included some budget-friendly hotels in the travel tab. It is Southern California in the summer, so hotel prices can be expensive. If you are traveling as a group, it is worthwhile to look into getting an Airbnb or Vrbo in one of the the surrounding areas of where we are getting married-- Oceanside, Vista, Escondido, San Marcos
In true Southern California fashion, we will be having tacos! The options will be: carne asada, pollo asada, and al pastor. There will also be a side of rice and beans, as well as all the taco fixin's!
The wedding ceremony will be indoors and the reception will be outdoors in a cute courtyard.
Both the church and the reception venue have parking lots!
We won't be providing transportation to and from the venue, sorry about that! Mission San Luis Rey and the Rancho Buena Vista Adobe are about 25 minutes apart. There is ample parking available, and rideshare services like Uber and Lyft are good options as well. If you’re staying at a nearby hotel, consider coordinating with other guests to carpool! For those flying to California, a rental car will probably be best. If you have any issues please reach out!
Yes! But please no flash and make sure the ringer is off. Please refrain from taking any pictures during the consecration. We ask for reverence especially during this most sublime of moments. We will also have a professional photographer capturing the beautiful moments!
You never know when a heat wave or smoky skies are going to sweep through California in the summer, but August in Oceanside is typically sunny and mild, with average daytime highs around 76°F and nighttime lows near 64°F. We recommend dressing in light layers to stay comfortable throughout the day and evening.
